International company to invest 90 mln euro in golf course near Kavarna
The construction of a new golf course near the village of Bozhurets, in the coastal Kavarna region, will kick off in mid-March, according to the chairman of the international company that will deploy the 90 mln euro investment.
The 18-hole golf course will have an area of 140 ha, the biggest on Bulgaria's Northern Black Sea coast.
The developer intends to repair the infrastructure in the area of the golf course, building 17 km of new roads and a 150-room five-star hotel. All building will have no more than three storeys. The course will be designed by South African golfing legend Gary Player.
The building contractor for the golf project will be chosen on competitive basis.
Player has also designed the golf complex built Balchik. The project has absorbed 100 mln euro in investment. The construction of another golf resort near Balchik started in late 2005. The 56 mln euro Lighthouse Golf Resorts is developed jointly. The complex will have an 18-hole golf course, training and horse-back riding facilities, a spa center, luxury houses and a hotel.
