Eleven houses in the Kazanlak Municipality welcome Japanese tourists
Japanese will distil Bulgarian brandy and will make rose petal jam together with their hosts from the Kazanlak villages (central Bulgaria). Tourists from Japan can also enjoy themselves by picking herbs and preparing natural cosmetic products at home. Eleven houses in the Kazanlak area are prepared to welcome the first Japanese tourists under the joint project for development of rural tourism, announced officials from the Kazanlak Municipality.
"The tourists will stay in the villages of Kran, Enina, Kanchevo, Cherganovo, Rosovo and Srednogorovo and will live together with their landlords. The Japanese tourists will have a chance to taste the traditional Bulgarian way of life," said sources from the Kazanlak office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JAIKA). The agency and the Kazanlak Municipality are partners in their ambitious project to promote rural tourism in Bulgaria.
The first monitoring visit by a group of experts and tourist will examine the conditions at the houses on June 10-11. A week later a second visit with the participation of media is envisaged.
"Right after that the 11 houses will be ready to welcome the first 35 tourists for a longer period of time - a week, ten days, as long as they wish," say the kind hosts.
