11 Bulgarian Beaches Receive Eco Award Blue Flag
The Bulgarian Blue Flag movement announced that the international jury of the Blue Flag program decided to award 2,884 beaches and 627 yacht ports in the northern hemisphere.
The Bulgarian Blue Flag movement is glad to announce that 11 Bulgarian beaches have received the Blue Flag award. These are the beaches in the resorts of Albena, Sunny Day, Elenite, New Beach and Central Beach in Sveti Vlas, Sunny Beach – north, Sunny Beach – south, Pomorie – east, Sozopol – Harmanite and Dyuni, as well as the Marina Dinevi yacht port.
Albena and Sunny Day have managed to keep the Blue Flag award for many years. The Bulgarian Blue Flag movement welcomes the return to the list of the Beach in the Elenite resort.
A new participant in the program is the Central beach in Sveti Vlas, which has met all of the requirements of the program and will be presented during the international visits.
The beach in the Dyuni resort is traditionally distinguished for its perfect management and is often chosen by the international commissions for the perfect site to hold the annual Blue Flag meeting.
The Blue Flag is a voluntary eco-label awarded to thousands of beaches and marinas around the world. The Blue Flag works towards sustainable development at beaches/marinas through strict criteria dealing with water quality, environmental education and information, environmental management, and safety and other services.
