Coastal roads in Bulgaria to be repaired by the end of June
Roads to Black Sea cities and coastal resorts would be ready for the start of the tourism season and all repairs would be completed by the end of June, managing director of the national roads agency Vesselin Georgiev said.
Georgiev said that Bulgarians needed to be patient as the problem with roads in the country could not be solved in a short period of time.
Repairs of the road from Varna to Bourgas would start in September so that traffic was not hindered during the summer season, Dnevnik newspaper reported.
The national tourism board called for the re-direction of larger vehicles away from the roads that tourists use for the entire summer season to avoid traffic jams and transportation problems.
Austrian company Strabag is already working on repairs on the Montana-Vidin road. A section of the road recently collapsed.
Work on Maritsa and Trakia highway was going on, Georgiev said. Maritsa highway could be completed before Trakia, said he. Work could end in two and a half years.
