Welcome to Bansko Jazz Fest 2011
The 14th edition of the ever popular International Jazz Festival in Bansko – Bansko Jazz Fest - will take place between August 8th and August 13th in the resort of Bansko, like every year since its founding in 1998. Bansko Jazz Fest is the biggest summer music festival in Bulgaria. Its great popularity among musicians and fans from all over the world has turned it into one of the most important cultural events on the Balkan Peninsula.
For six days Bansko turns into the jazz capital. Thousands of people gather at the town’s central square where there is a special open-air stage. During the fest week jazz can be heard from various smaller stages set in big developments and restaurants around the resort. Apart from the main stage jazz musicians perform in some night clubs as well. Every night there are performances of musicians from different countries.
Traditionally, the program of the jazz fest includes styles and groups representing almost all trends in the genre. This year we can enjoy legends like Jackie Ryan, Larry Vukovic, Mungo Jerry and many more talented musicians and groups like Jive Aces, Yoni Vidal, Rick Margitza, Oleg Kireev, etc.
The concerts are free for everyone to enjoy.
