20.02.2012 Ski resort of Bansko hosts the World Ski Cup

The legendary skier Alberto Tomba arrived in Bansko just a few hours before the ski race. Tomba first arrived in Sofia and was transferred to Bansko by a helicopter. Bansko also welcomed half of the members of the steering committee of the International Ski Federation led by Gianfranco Kasper. Thousands of tourists have already arrived in Bansko.
Bansko is the host of a round of the Alpine Skiing World Cup for both men and women. The Men World Cup Slalom and Super Giant Slalom Race took place on 18.02.2012 and the Women World Cup Slalom and Super Giant Slalom Race will take place a week later.
