25.06.2007 The First Trade Center In Vidin Will Be Opened Until The End Of The Year

Stroitelstvo Gradat Weekly, 18th June 2007

The “Bulgarian Properties” company started the final works on the house bought at raw stage in the ideal center of Vidin, which will be transformed into a modern trade center.

There, at the end of the year, when building works are to be completed, Bulgarian and world trademarks will be able to offer their goods and services to the local people and the town visitors. A total of six million leva will be invested in the project.

The new complex has extended built-up area of 9000 square meters and commercial area of 6000 square meters. More than 60 shops, offices and restaurants with sizes varying from 4 to 1100 square meters will be located there. The trade complex will be constructed on 4 floors, connected with escalators and a panoramic elevator.

The project plans the construction of a super market, shops, restaurants, and places of entertainment in the basement, on the ground floor and on the two over ground floors.

The investment in Mall Vidin will exceed six million leva. “Bulgarian Properties” is proprietorship of a company registered on the British Virgin Islands Offshore Zone. According to its website, it is part of the US fund “Global Management Ventures”, which invests in the field of real estates. The company plans to invest approximately 50 million Euros in Bulgaria in the near 5 years.

So far, the company has made investments in Varna, Russe, Svishtov, and in Black Sea sites. Its projects in Bulgaria are mainly in the sectors of trade, office and tourist sites. This is not the only company that makes investments in trade areas in the Danube town. The contractor “Fairplay International” also plans construction of a mall in the center of Vidin, hoping that with the construction of Danube Bridge 2, the income and consumption of the local population will rise. The company owns the town theatre, but its construction is not yet completed. The construction of the mall is scheduled to start during the spring.

The construction of trade centers in Vidin is part of a trend that spreads to more and more settlements in the country. After the opening of the first new malls in Sofia and Veliko Tarnovo, some projects of that kind were developed in Varna and Plovdiv, as well as one in each of the smaller towns – Russe, Stara Zagora, Pleven. Other malls are planned to be built in places like Shumen and Gabrovo.

Currently, Vidin is considered a market for industrial and logistic estates with significant potential. Many companies are eager to buy lots, so that they could take advantage of the forthcoming serious development of the infrastructure, and the related businesses after the construction of Danube Bridge 2.
