29.10.2010 BULGARIAN PROPERTIES Support the Introduction of European Standard in The Work of Real Estate Companies and Agents in Bulgaria

BULGARIAN PROPERTIES

Mihail Chobanov, Managing Partner
In connection to the introduction of the European standard in the work of property agencies and real estate agents in Bulgaria a team from the Bulgarian national television PRO.BG contacted BULGARIAN PROPERTIES in our capacity of a leading real estate agency and asked if they could “check” what our work principles are and whether we adhere to the European standard.

The PRO.BG team met with our personnel at our central office in Sofia and found out that the people working here have a university degree, rich experience in the field of real estate and excellent knowledge of languages. Both the personnel and the management team in the company support the introduction of the standard. The Executive Director and Co-Founder of BULGARIAN PROPERTIES Mihail Chobanov supported the standard and its observing by saying it was an excellent tool for distinguishing the professionals in the field. He added that unqualified real estate agents spoil the image of the profession and offer low-quality services.

The PRO.BG team also accompanied us on a viewing of an apartment in the capital Sofia as their camera documented how a viewing with us goes, what knowledge our agent has and what clients say about the quality of our work. Nevena is one of our leading agents in Sofia and for her education is an extremely important base for the quality of the services she offers. What clients usually require from real estate agents is good and friendly attitude, high quality of the information they provide and protection of their rights before the developer/seller.

BULGARIAN PROPERTIES is a leading real estate company in Bulgaria which has been working actively on the local and foreign market and abides by high work standards. Our standards are based on the best global practices in the real estate sphere.

The Standard

The standard has been adopted by the European Committee for Standardization as it now also has the status of a national standard as it was adopted by the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization. It is recommendatory and will not increase the price of agents’ services.

The document is the first European consensus for the requirements for the services provided by real estate agents and the persons wishing to cover it must meet quite a few conditions, the main one being education. The aim is to protect the rights of the parties in the deal and the market to get rid of accidental agents who infringe main ethical and trading principles.
