Ski Properties in Bulgaria with Up to 50% Discount

Dimitar Lyubenov, Novinite Dnes

Prices of holiday properties in the big mountain resorts around Bulgaria returned to their levels from 2005, as for some properties the discount is as high as 50% year-on-year.

The average price of Bansko apartments is 640 Euro/sq.m., the data of Bulgarian Properties shows based on actual concluded deals during the period May-September 2009. “The apartments are the most sought-after property type in the resort because their prices are more affordable and this type of property can easily be managed and rented out to receive additional income”, said Polina Stoykova – Chief Operations Manager of Bulgarian Properties, for NOVINITE DNES newspaper.

Currently, apartments in the resort can be found at prices between 300 Euro/sq.m. and 1,200 Euro/sq.m. According to the experts the most sought after apartments are sold at prices between 450 Euro/sq.m. and 600 Euro/sq.m. and in the more luxurious developments – between 700 Euro/sq.m. and 900 Euro/sq.m.

“Prices of holiday homes in Pamporovo and Borovets also decreased by about 10-20% but prices remain higher making the properties there less attractive compared to Bansko”, Ms. Stoykova added. “The factors like the good quality of the construction and the many extras which the developments offer, including outdoor pools, practically make the mountain a great place to be all year round”, Polina Stoykova explained.

According to Irina Nikulchina – chairperson of the Tourism Association Bansko, the resort remains the most sought after destination for buying a property due to the excellent sports and recreation options available all year round.

On October 2nd Bansko” will host the first tourism market Traditions with Future.
