The town is huddled in the mountain folds 111 km east of Sofia. The town boasts a large number of architectural monuments from the period, 383 in all, most of which have been restored to their original appearance. The town is in the list of one hundred national tourist sites and it was declared a town-museum in 1952.
The price of the plot with a construction permit is 80000 Euro.
