John Lindley,Bulgarian Properties, Plovdiv office, 24th January 2006

Stara Zagora is a good place to live and work in. It has well established industries, a good health service and an excellent educational system. The city is situated in the heart of a region consisting of nine towns so offering more scope for investment and advancement. Prices of property are relatively cheap compared to other Bulgarian towns and cities bearing in mind the resources that this region has.
Many international and national companies are already established, Meressev Ltd, a national company deals with the clothing, packing and printing industries and has been established here since 1954. Also there is the Maritza East Complex which provides 30% of all the electrical power in Bulgaria and the potential of this company has attracted the attention of German and USA investors,

who are now responsible for upgrading their equipment and there is DZU, Bulgarias largest hi tech company which has recently merged with Videoton. To promote investment Stara Zagora also has the Regional Economic Development Agency which encourages and overseas new innovations and foreign investment within the region.
Stara Zagora has a good health service and clean areas with which to enjoy good health. For instance there is the town of Gurkovo which is ecologically very clean. There are no big industrial pollutants that you find in other cities and towns and it has the potential to develop in to an attractive place for tourism and rest.

Also it is ideally situated being very close to the Stara Planina mountain range where there is plenty of nature, mountain chalets and rest houses.
This region has plenty of secondary schools, colleges and cultural institutes. It also has the Thracian University which offers numerous degree programmes in the arts and sciences. It could be a good idea to purchase a property here and also study here. In Stara Zagora the cost of living is reasonable and as property prices are certain to go up this opportunity might never come again. There are plenty of properties to choose from,
and now might be the best time to look for your ideal second home.
