Bulgarian ski resort Bansko may get new Gondola lift

Dnevnik Daily, 21st Nov 2005

Bansko, the ski resort town located some 160 km south of Bulgaria's capital Sofia, could have a second gondola lift, said city mayor Alexander Kravarov.
The initiative belongs to Yulen AD, the company that operates the resort town's skiing facilities under a concession arrangement.
The Bansko municipality has earmarked a 3.0 ha land plot for the construction of the ski lift. The Project will be in development for at least 2 years, said Kravarov.
In related news, the municipal council has banned construction works on the territory of the resort between December 15 and March 15.
The Bansko hospitality industry expects an increase in tourist visits this winter season due to the inclusion of the resort in the portfolios of new tour operators like Britain's First Choice and Thomson. The British market generates the bulk of foreign visits to the Bulgarian mountain resort.
