Bulgaria to Develop as Congressional Tourism Destination

Bulgaria can receive up to 15 million visitors as a congressional tourist destination. If that potential is fulfilled the country can benefit USD 9 B.

The information emerged during a working meeting concerning the role of congressional tourism in regional economy development. Bulgaria has many possibilities to act as an attractive congressional tourist destination, said Joseph Halbherr from the Bulgarian Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The basic prerequisites for congressional tourism development are good conditions and access, Halbherr said. He pointed the need of a developed infrastructure and educated labor force.
