New Lift and Ski Runs from Stoykite to Pamporovo

The Sofia Echo

A six-seat lift and two new ski runs will be constructed between the Pamporovo winter resort and the village of Stoikite. The route for the lift has already been prepared and trees have been cleared. The route starts from the centre of the village and reaches Snezhanka peak, Focus news agency reported.

Part of the facilities for the lift has already been delivered from France, Focus said. The mayor of Stoykite village said that, if no problems occur, the runs and the lift would be ready for the new winter season.

The total length of the lift will be 2992m and it will be one of the most modern ski facilities in Bulgaria. The two ski runs will be among the longest in Pamporovo, nearly five km. Malkochev said that he hoped along with the new construction, the old lift and ski run near the village would be renovated. The facilities are next to the new installations.

Thus, a ski centre would be established in the village of Stoikite, he said. The new facilities would cost several million euro, Focus said. Pamporovo AD provided the funding.
