Property Prices in Plovdiv Up in 2007

Polina Stoykova, BulgarianProperties

Property prices in Plovdiv used to be lower than the normal market rates over the past few years and in 2007 they caught up with the price levels of the other big Bulgarian cities. The prices have now reached the levels of the prices in Burgas, Stara Zagora, Russe.

Plovdiv has been a cultural and economic center for many years and being the second largest city in Bulgaria it has always attracted international investors. Our advice for investors is to search for quality building, central location (suitable for renting) or office and industrial space as these are very attractive at the moment. Nice and spacious houses close to the city are a preferred option for living in the area as they offer the comfort of the countryside and are within commuting distance from Plovdiv.

After Bulgaria joined the EU the property market in Plovdiv can be referred to as a steady and secure investment with constant growth in pricing of homes and commercial areas. The competitive prices of real estates in the area as well as the intriguing history and immaculate nature are amongst the major factors that attract investors.

Plovdiv is also emerging as one of the trade and commercial centers in Bulgaria. With the largest International Fair Exhibition on the Balkans it offers never ending opportunities for any kind of business. Many corporations have stared to move to Plovdiv as it proved to be a convenient option for development of economic activities.

On the other hand, being right at the foot of the mountain, it offers lovely green hills, mild climate and beautiful places to visit. As an ancient town older than Rome, Troy and many others it offers an extremely interesting mixture of cultures and nationalities, which determines it as a major tourist location throughout the year.
