Lozenets – the Birth of a Lovely Resort

When we talk about holydays at the Bulgarian Black Seaside, Lozenets is one of the top resorts, most recently mentioned nowadays. It is a small, pretty village situated on the sea shore, 60 km south of Bourgas. Lozenets is a perspective site and it is on its way to become a summer oasis, ready to entertain everybody, who is greedy for summer emotions.

The commercial resorts in Bulgaria became really overcrowded and many of the summer tourists started searching for quiet places. Thus Lozenets turned into cosy sea resort. The citizens of the capital city Sofia were the first to come to the resort. Many artists like the famous Bulgarian jazz singer Beloslava bought villas there, in order to be inspired by the calmness and the romance of Lozenets.

The artists’ invasion to Lozenets was then followed by invasion from the owners of the clubs in Sofia. Beach bars and clubs like “Alcohol” and “By the Way” opened doors on the beach of Lozenets. They became stage for many Bulgarian and foreign musicians. Besides, Lozenets turned into a well developed water sports centre. Some of the best freestyle skiers and snow boarders founded surf schools there. Young adventure people started organizing tours inside natural park “Strandzha” and boat trips along Ropotamo River, which are definitely an unforgettable experience, for anyone who loves nature. Gradually from a small village Lozenets turned into a sea resort, not on a large scale but with great potential and opportunities for unique holydays. Many investors saw the possibilities for great potential development in Lozenets. But it seems that the investors had taken warning by the bad over construction in the big resorts. There are not large concrete mastodons, but small cosy holyday complexes, apart-hotels and family hotels, unique with their natural look and greenery – charming and fascinating in their own way.

And here I can add that the charm and the fascination are the most appropriate words that can describe Lozenets. The sea resort is suitable for people from all ages, with different social and family status. Some of the most attractive things for me in the resort were the beach bars. These specialized spots for entertainment have something that distinct them from the other clubs. The nice atmosphere, the refined swing music, the chill out and jazz touch and the specialized music styles are outstanding. I could just sit back, relax and taste slowly from my fresh cool cocktail, sitting in one of those beach bars, staring at the sea, and being isolated enough from the other tables and the people from the bar. Thus I could finally find full calmness and relax.

At night these very beach bars turn into wild nightlife arena, where great parties with Bulgarian and foreign DJs take place. That is why in Lozenets the sunrise does not indicate the beginning of the new day, but more like marks the transition from night dynamical dances to beach lazy rests. Most probably, if the sea the sand and the waves could speak, they would tell stories about love couples, lying together on the beach during the night. It is the very legend for Lozenets, which actually tells about the young people, who found the village. They were free, full of love and happy under their sun. And no surprise that the nowadays visitors of Lozenets are so happy and in love with the sea, the sun, the beach and the freedom.
