A lift will change the bus from Smolyan to Pamporovo

The cable car will decide the problem with the parking lots in the resort during the winter season

A lift will connect Smolyan and Pamporovo. The municipal gave the assignment for the projection of the new transport on the route to two teams. The technical studies of the equipment are already completed, said the mayor of Smolyan Dora Yankova. A middle station is planed to be constructed 5 kilometers away from Smolyan in the Raykovski livadi site, which is currently being developed as a small mountain resort with hotels and villas. A six seat cabin lift will carry tourists along this segment. A seat lift will connect the site with Snejanka peak, which is 2,4 kilometers away from Raykovski livadi site. It will be mainly used by skiers and tourists, who will be able to reach Pamporovo faster. The capacity of the wire lifts will be 720- 750 people per hour. The total investment is assessed to cost 24,9 million BGN. The cable car will reduce the traffic on the road to Pamporovo and will decide the problem with the parking lots in the resort. During the summer the lift will be mainly used as an attraction.
A team lead by architect Veselina Troeva has already presented their project. The project of the second team is also expected in short term. Than the municipal council will choose one of the projects.
